The full manual ships with the beta. The short version, straight:
Pick the joint, pick your meats, pick your sides. A star rating is a complete check-in — thirty seconds, done. Every slider past that is optional and always will be.
Smoke level, dry-to-moist, the smoke ring, the pull on a rib, the snap on a link. Rate the sauces by name. The obsessive detail is the whole point — but it's never required.
Leaderboards are computed from real check-ins only. Money can't buy a ranking, sponsors can't blend into results, and cheating is a permanent ban. No ads, ever.
The journal works without an account and never needs a signal. Sign in when you want the earnable stuff — XP, quests, leaderboards, friends.
